POLLUTION IN THE GREAT LAKES
Pollution in the Great Lakes is a concern for Canada because according to Canadian Geographic, " [The Great Lakes] hold more than a fifth of the earth's freshwater" (Walker, N., 2013). Pollutants from factories and fertilizers have caused concern that the water may be unsafe for fish and for drinking. The United States and Canada have worked together for several years on this problem. According to teach.GLIN.net, the U.S. and Canada are working together on the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. This agreement was made to help reduce levels of harmful chemicals such as sulfur and phosphorus.
